Finding the right fence post
You can choose from a variety of fence-posts most installations. Your selection
will depend on the animal being controlled, topography, price, fence type
(portable, temporary, or permanent), and the expected lifetime of the fence.
Keep in mind that the type of fence post used will dictate the type of
insulator used.

Corner vs. line posts
Another important consideration is whether the post will serve as a corner post
or a line post. Corner posts (typically made of wood) must be sturdier to
handle the tension at corners, gates, and termination points. Line posts need
only support the wire between the corner posts.
